Paid Parental Leave

A full-time employee is eligible for paid parental leave (salary continuation) if the employee has completed 12 consecutive months or more of employment at the school and has a need to bond with their newborn or to provide medical care to the birthing parent and/or baby. Employees who are not the birth parent may be eligible for four (4) consecutive weeks of paid parental leave.

Employees who are eligible for paid parental leave (PPL) will receive four (4) consecutive weeks of 100% of their weekly salary from the school. The employee will have up to ninety (90) days from the date of the birth of their child, to use Paid parental leave.

At no time, can PPL and New York Paid Family Leave be paid to an employee at the same time. Employees eligible for PPL are not also entitled to Paid Childcare Leave (PCL).

When Both Spouses/Partners Work For Us

If both you and your spouse work for us, PPL and/or PCL will be authorized for one of you if you have both requested the same period off to bond with the same child.

Employees will not be paid for unused PPL or PCL upon separation from employment. Payment will cease on the employee’s termination date.
