Full time employees are eligible for a paid disability leave. This policy is contingent on employees reporting the disability, completing the required paperwork and being approved for NYS disability benefits.
Employees with less than one year of service are eligible for one week of paid disability leave per fiscal year. Employees with more than one year of service are eligible for three weeks of paid disability leave per fiscal year. During this time, Launch will continue to pay the employee’s salary and the disability payments from the carrier will be made directly to the school.
Once the paid disability leave expires, employees will receive disability payments directly from the carrier.
For employees receiving paid parental leave, this paid leave will be an addition and will be paid before/after parental leave begins/expires.
During Leave When a school holiday, break or closing occurs during an employee’s leave, this time will be unpaid, unless the employee has been approved for paid parental leave, paid leave for approved disabilities or is using PTO Time.
